About FAST
The Foundation for Agric and Social Transformation (FAST) is a community rights-based NGO which aims at promoting improved and sustainable livelihood through food security and nutritional sufficiency. As a social transformation and research organisation, FAST’s strategy includes institutional capacity building, organisational development, and participatory agricultural field practices through enhanced natural attenuation and modern farming processes. The activities of FAST are targeted at the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, institutional capacity building, gender equality and women empowerment, protecting the rights of vulnerable groups (children and women) and Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), advocacy and awareness creation for HIV/AIDS, and strategic partnership for environmental sustainability.
THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation for Agric and Social Transformation (FAST) is a non-profit making, non-religious, non-political, philanthropic and rural-oriented non-governmental organisation (NGO) set up to facilitate and promote gradual but, steady positive agricultural and social changes in target communities of Nigeria. The strategy and instrument for change is participatory innovations resulting in the identification and development of untapped non-oil resources (otherwise known as renewable natural resources). Thus, ensuring the right behavioural changes in the communities through social learning. There are three broad departments namely: Agriculture, Community Development, and Research & Training. The social transformation activities involve access to good information by the less-privileged and most vulnerable groups as well as enlightenment of stakeholders with regard to children, women, youths, men, pensioners and community leaders, as they are considered vital for the development of rural community.
